Emily the Kiwi  - Now a song! - See Videos of Book Songs

Emily the Kiwi played the ukulele

Under the silver-gold moon

Molly the Morepork sang along,

The morning sun would come up soon.

"Morepork, Morepork, play me a song,"

Sang Molly to Emily , "I'm here."

So Emily the Kiwi kept strumming along,

As music is so wonderful to share.

Up peeked the sun from behind the forest hill

And Louie the Tui woke up.

He opened his beak and started to trill,

Then drank from the kowhai nectar cup.

"Whistle chirp, twitter twirp, play me a song,"

Sang Louie to Emily "I'm here."

So Emily the Kiwi kept strumming along,

As music is so magical to share.

Emily was tired, but she kept playing on,

Plucking on the ukulele strings.

Molly went to bed, but Louie sang along

And then there was a fluttering of wings...

Story continued in the book...
